Did Corinne Michaels write this? Nobody even died. I kid. On a serious note, though, Evermore was a fantastic re-entry to the Salvation world. It’s been a minute since I’d read any of the books and while I did remember the broad strokes, it was good to have the refresher of who everyone was and how they all connected. Gretchen and Ben’s relationship was adorable and I’m so happy we got to know their story.I’m a sucker for a good second-chance romance, especially one that began when they were just children and their first chance at love ended before it ever really started. Gretchen and Ben had such fantastic chemistry from the beginning, from the first second they reconnected the connection they shared was palpable. They had both been damaged by the people who should have cared for them most in the past; their reunion seemed fated.I loved both Gretchen and Ben, and how they supported one another. The damages that had been done to them by their exes was profound and watching them slowly piece each of their broken parts back together. Their love was so pure and true; it was a thing of beauty to see them rediscover and nurture it into something vital and healing.Evermore is a novella in Corinne Michaels’ Salvation series; it would most likely be billed as book 5.5. The Salvation series is a series of two duets and a standalone, which are all interconnected. The duets must be read in order, but otherwise, the stories don’t have to be read in order. Evermore is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Gretchen and Ben.
I absolutely loved Corinne Michaels’ Salvation series and when I heard she was going to write a novella for Catherine’s best friend, Gretchen, I was over the moon.This novella did not disappoint and it felt like a reunion of some of my favorite characters from the series. The real stars though are Ben and Gretchen. They were childhood friends and they find themselves back in each other’s orbit. The sparks are still there, but they are both dealing with pain and heartbreak.This novella was amazing and fans of the Salvation series will love it.
If I could give Evermore more than 5 stars, I would. I love Ben & Gretchen! I love the people they are and who they become together. If you are a fan of the Salvation Series, this is a must read.I enjoyed getting to see all of my favorite Seals from previous books and of course their better halves. I love the friendship Ashton, Gretchen, & Cat have and enjoyed seeing it again.I will say if you have not read any Salvation Series books before, you don’t have to in order to read this book.
Evermore by Author Corinne Michaels is a novella in the amazing Salvation Series. It is an interconnected series about Navy Seals and the women they love...strong women. This is Ben and Gretchen’s book. It is a wonderful story. So good, that dare I say I want to beg for more books in the series. If the author is reading this...pretty please!Now, back to the book. Gretchen and Ben were best friends as children. When they reconnect as adults the sparks fly. The problem is that they have both been hurt by exes and life in general. They aren’t quick to trust what they feel or relationships in general. The push and pull and amazing chemistry between them is undeniable, even to them.The love that they shared and built on is a thing of beauty. They raise each other up and fill in the cracks left by others.I highly recommend this book and the series. Did I mention that if the author is reading this...more Salvation Series please? Whistles off to In The Navy by the Village people while mentally visualizing Fleet Week.
There is just something about a story with hard working, military men, with hearts of gold that make me fall hard. Add to the story a strong, smart, heartbroken woman who reconnects with her childhood love - I am officially a huge mess of emotions falling in love with this book! Gretchen and Ben first fell in love with each other in middle school, but after Ben’s family moves away, Gretchen is devastated and never truly moves on. When they reconnect years later at Cole Security- it like they never were apart. Both damaged by past love, they need to overcome trust issues and personal insecurities to find their forever love. This book was a wonderful addition to the Salvation series - these men and women are some of my favorite characters. 5 Stars for me!
This is a novella to the Salvation series. This is Ben & Gretchen's story. Ben and Gretchen have a history. They were friends as teenagers until fate separated them. They are no reunited and the chemistry is still there but they are both broken. Ben from war and his ex wife and Gretchen from her ex. Is there chemistry enough to mend broken hearts and help each other heal? I really loved these characters and their story. As with the other books they are in a series but can be read as stand alone but I highly recommend starting at the beginning and reading the entire series. You will not be disappointed and then you will know all the characters who make appearances throughout the books.
I have been wanting to dive back into the lives of these characters for so so long. How I've missed the feelings this series evokes from the brotherhood, the friendships and the feel it deep in your bones love. My heart ached for Ben and all he has been through after dedicating his life to what he was meant to do. Michaels writes such amazingly strong women who I respect and try to emulate in real life. Gretchen is another glowing example of this. She's the friend you want in our corner.I only wish Evermore wasn't a novella but a full length novel, I wasn't ready to let Ben and Gretchen go so quickly!!

well written and very well researched book on the Art Deco period of radio from a Australian perspective. the pictures and the extent of the number of pictures is amazing.
Detailed commentary and exquisite photos make this a must have book for anyone collecting radios of the Deco period. You won't find a better book anywhere. This takes the Phil Collins book several levels higher with regard to photography and the quality of the pubication but it is worth every cent. It sets a new standard in the documentation of early radio history.
GREAT BOOK. AUTHOR IS FANTASTIC. BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WITH INTEREST IN ART DECO DESIGN OR RADIO INTERESTS.
The most beautifully illustrated book on art deco radios that I have seen.
This is a big leap forward from earlier books on Deco radios. But, one should be very aware of where the author is based. That, and the fact that the majority of these radios are European or Australian. Very very little on USA deco radios. Some smattering of catalin radios, but so what, we all know those. Nothing on wooden American radios. Stromberg Carlson, for example, made over a dozen really killer designs. Not one here. The one Stromberg radio shown is in error. Seems like little effort was made to include these sets. Why? Enough is known about them to include them. This is one guys idea of deco radio, a very very slim slice. Nicely done, indeed, but not at all comprehensive. This gap needs to be filled.
Just great!Will recommend it to all I know who are fond of special design radios.Am very pleased with the chapter dedicated to Belgian products !
Been lucky to have had a few of these radios in the collection over the years ...now I have the book and don't need the radios anymore...Wow!!
The book is informative, but all radio photos are placed on a black back round. That often makes the dark colors of the radio displayed hard to see.

What an incredible book! I am midway through the book and each section is moving, thoughtful, motivating, inspiring--wow! I am so appreciating each experience of each artist or siblings as artist in the book. I teach in a violent, administratively unsupported middle and high school. This book has made me wonder--how am in feeding my creativity? How am I being creative? The book is helping me redefine what success is for me...yes, I want to make the money, but I have to say--at what cost. I really, really like this book!

This is the 2nd Louden compilation of artist's essays I've read, and it's just as engrossing as the first. I especially appreciate that she finds artists in diverse locations across the country.
Sharon Louden's two books, and her further writing and speaking support an important ideology where in which artists are being supported to talk about their monetary as well as cultural worth, which is translated in these books. They create a new ideology about the way that an artist lives, balances several commitments and continues to make time for their practice. The first books contain essays from artists discussing their own lives and practices. This book contains essays about how artists work with their community. Hrag Vartanian (wrote the forward) believes that the artist should be involved in every area of our lives and involved in planning and politics and business, whereas Sharon Louden goes one step further, believing that the artist needs to make this move themselves, to integrate and share with communities, and move away from the traditional white box scenario. The series of essays written by artists in this book has shown how, and why artists have expanded their practice to include a social or community based element. Buy both of these books. I loved them, they are powerful. Dr Kyle Jenkins, Head of Visual Art at the University of Southern Queensland has made the books a course text. I teach at the college level, and this is a great resource for students, both undergraduate and graduate. Reading these reflections from practicing artists helps them to better understand there truly is no single path to sustaining your career as a practicing artist. I appreciate that the artists are not shy about detailing their struggles, and how they maneuvered to overcome them, or work alongside them. Ethically, it's important to share these stories with students so they can navigate their careers with as much preparation as possible.
This book (as well as her previous one) provides stories that inspire anyone to live a more creative life. I am not a professional artist. I am a business person and amateur musician. Music has played a central role throughout my life. I agree with Ms. Louden that creativity is key to living a full life, be it music, visual art, writing or any other creative pursuit. Her books provide the reader with real-life case studies of how artists create and sustain creative lives. I have found both books inspiring, interesting and uplifting. The illustrations are gorgeous as well.
Sharon Louden's book of essays, The Artist as Cultural Producer, is vitamins for the artist who is seeking to innovate, organize and participate in the community around them. As artists, we can get worn down and discouraged by engaging in initiatives and projects that don't necessarily produce immediate results. This book provides encouragement that our efforts do produce a lasting impact. It also gives an accurate picture of how multifaceted the artist's life is. We can be professionals, spouses, parents, entrepreneurs, advocates and servants, all while pursuing our own studio practice. It's helpful to read these stories and learn from others who have walked a similar path. I just finished reading The Artist as Culture Producer. As a memoirist/biographer, I'm always intrigued by how people's lives unfold in planned and unplanned ways. Especially those who need to have their creative juices flowing in order to do what they know and love. How does one find the time and place for inspiration when the dog needs to go the vet, the toilet's leaking, your dad fell and looks like he's headed to a nursing home, your back hurts, the internet just went down, and there's not enough money in the checking account to cover the latest batch of bills? Life gets in the way of one's calling so frequently. Those who can rise above all of this are special people.All essays were good, but I particularly liked those by Brett Wallace and Steve Lambert. My congrats to Sharon for taking on this ambitious project and for completing it. Her book book has been, I'm sure, an inspiration to many and will continue to serve as such in the future.

It seems to cover a lot of the same ground of Ferriss's 4-hour Work Week, but since it's a bit newer, it can be read as a refresher.
As an Entrepreneur that always is busy - I am constantly on the lookout for ways to be more productive and automate as much as possible. I have a whole library of productivity books and this bar none the best one I have read in a long time. Ari outlines his method for living a balanced life (and actually enjoying yourself) instead of the 'hustle' and 24/7 work, work, work. If you are truly looking to work smarter and not harder - this is the book for you!
Interesting ideas that create time for yourself and productivity. This is not drivel by any stretch. Good for the business person or homemaker looking to sharpen their time management acumen.
I would have preferred that the anecdotes were replaced with more information on how to do something, particularly as the book progressed. It looked like it was building towards how to get a virtual assistant involved in taking some of your work, but it never got there.
At a stage where I am becoming time poor, this book gave some insight on managing tasks and day to day activities, as well as being able to automate or delegate mundane activities.I woulld recommend this book to friends and peers that are becoming overwhelmed with life.
This is *the* quintessential book for someone who never feels like they have enough time. Working in the startup world means that time is the most valuable asset I own and The Art of Less Doing has finally provided the light to help me be more effective with my time AND reduce the time I spend on mindless tasks. Seriously, if you always feel like you're asking yourself, "where did the time go?" you need to do yourself a favor and buy this book.
I used to have all these small (and not so small) tasks that would weigh me down - with a never-ending to-do list that just wouldn't get smaller. The principles in this book made me reconsider my approach and restructure how I do things. Ari makes things come together, leaving me with thoughts of: I knew all along that it shouldn't have been so hard, I just didn't know how to make them easier, until now...
Finally, an author that can get the point across in less than a 5 hour read. There are really good ideas in here.
