Not bad and great for first timers going out on their own and need to learn to cook. You "get what you pay for" as far as quality and taste from these recipes.

I'm a single guy. I love to eat. I hate to cook. These recipes are (for the most part) easy, tasty and only require a few ingredients. For the most part all of the ingredients are readily available. Not sure what "Caponata" (canned "eggplant appetizer") is or where I'd get it, but the rest of the ingredients should be in any reasonably well stocked grocery store. For lazy, hungry, single folks this one is a keeper!

I bought this book for my son who is 19 and is always walking in the house and asking what is there to eat and if there is nothing immediately there, he'll run off to McDonalds or gripe about starving. I told him one day, "son, you have to figure out at least 5 or 6 things you can cook so you can be independent one day". I found this book on Amazon and bought it at first as kind of a joke of our conversation. I gave it to him for Christmas and he actually loved it! He's made 2 or 3 things already and they are very good! I love this book, because men are very visual and don't want to read instructions. It has pictures of exactly what you need and the steps to cook it are simple and straight forward. If you have a bachelor or young man in your life that needs some nudging to learn some sort of cooking on their own, this is a good book to give them. It would be a GREAT book to give to any college student, not just males, because most everything is very affordable, and the best thing, all is needed is a microwave.

If you are really in a hurry and a man a can a plan is just too time consuming for the moment then do like the series did and take to the microwave. Get things done even faster and in a pinch. Great last minute minimalist meal saver.

I have 8 sons. I discovered these book back in 2006. And have given them to all the bachelors in the family. There awesome. Love the picture book style and indestructible book it’s self. A survival must I think.

Book is only 43 pages long, thick cardboard pages like a kid's book. Got it for a gift but disappointed in content

Great format. The books can be wiped off if food gets on them. This is the second title In this series that I have purchased for my grandson. He loves them. They are easy to follow, uncomplicated and require very little time.

This is a great little book for a graduation present - particularly for a boy. I give it with the ingredients for one of the recipes. So far, has been well-received.

I'm 62 years old. Kids are raised and gone. Bought this for my son who hates to cook ("too much trouble")...but I LOVE IT!! The recipes are actually very good, and beyond simple! LOL, repurchased the series of 3 for myself!

In this YA mystery, five high school students attend afternoon detention, but only four leave alive. The police become convinced that it is murder and that one--or all--of the four are guilty.One of Us Is Lying switches between the point of view of all four major characters, which was nicely done to keep the plot moving. Sadly their voices are not well defined, due in part to the four being stereotyped YA characters, and without the heading it would often be hard to tell them apart. As for the mystery, it was relatively easy to solve, but McManus contrived to keep the story flowing and interesting enough to make for an enjoyable read all the way to the end. It's certainly not an outstanding novel, but it is entertaining and should be well received by the intended audience.

We all have people in high school that we knew on a superficial level that were probably remembered via their clique. One word descriptions. Nothing more. Nothing less. This book is yet another reminder of what can happen when you choose to dig a little deeper and stop caring what your friends think.If you’re looking for an entertaining and quick read for the beach this summer, I’d highly recommend giving this novel a shot. As a 29 year old reading a YA novel, I was pretty confident that I'd be able to figure out who killed Simon. I was very wrong!The main characters are all teenagers, and like teenagers, they can be pretty cringy. There were plenty of parts that made me go "Oh god, start thinking with your brains, not your hormones!" You'd think that would be a bad thing, but I loved it, because these characters were very realistic. I'm tired of reading YA books where the main characters are wise old souls in 16 year old bodies. What teenager isn't a little annoying?I can't wait for this to become the next big book sensation! I would not be surprised if it becomes a tv series.

Netflix? Get on this right now!Bronwyn, a brainy girl set on going to Yale, is given detention for having her phone in class. The thing is, it was not her phone but the teacher does not believe her. He also doesn’t believe Cooper, the star athlete, Addy, the beauty, and Nate, I guess you would call the classic delinquent. And then there is Simon. Simon runs a gossip app called About That. He spreads the high school gossip around like butter. When Simon has an allergic attack and things go horribly wrong, the four kids are all suspected of murder. Who is lying and who is telling the truth?I loved these kids so much. As much as I loved the mystery and the twists, my favorite part was watching all four grow into the people they were meant to be. They throw aside the petty high school cliques and become real friends. Of course, in the back of your mind you are wondering if one of them is the murderer and I am not going to spoil that. I had a feeling that ended up being right, pat myself on the back, but there are a few things that were surprising. The other characters are so thought out as well, the sisters especially. I loved Maeve’s chutzpah. I had a silly smile on my face at the end. I am sure you will too.This is such a wonderful debut novel and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Ms. McManus!

What makes a novel work, in my opinion, is mystery. McManus's debut novel is full of mystery and intrigue. Like many others have said, it grabs tight and doesn't let go until the end. There's a lot going on here. Yes, it's a young adult novel, but its themes deal with universal, every-age issues. I am not a young adult, but I found the characters compelling. They're at an age when hormones and emotions are blazing, so the scenarios are realistic and engaging. As someone who hasn't been in high school for some years now this story was a nice nostalgia trip too. Karen's prose is quick and vibrant. She gives you enough details to sketch the scene, but allows your mind to fill in the spaces. That's the sign of a great writer. Someone who sets the scene but doesn't overwhelm the mind with minute details. It makes for a fast-moving, thrilling adventure. This book was very engrossing. I only stopped reading it because I was too tired to continue...so I ended up reading it in two sittings. There were multiple times throughout the novel that I was convinced I knew who the guilty party was. I was wrong every time. I loved the reveal. A very promising debut. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next from McManus.

My opinion hasn't changed from the first time I read this story. The story was well written and the storyline well defined. The author drew the reader in and kept our interest throughout the story as well as allowing us to experience her characters many emotions. The story had intrigue, suspense, discoveries, betrayal, love, and a happily ever after.

What can I say? There is just no possible way to give Johanna Lindsey a review of less than a 5 stars. She is the consummate Romance writer.I particularly like this one. It's a sequel to Once a Princess. If you haven't read do so before you read this one. I loved that Vasili the Adonis of Cardonia, Peacock Popinjay extrodinaire finally met someone who wasn't so enthralled with his looks that she fell at his feet.It is a witty, charming, funny makes you want to just walk into the pages and be them kind of story. I loved every minute of it and never wanted it to end.Buy, Read, Enjoy the stories that only Ms. Lindsey can weave. I have love her work forever and I just read his live in Maine, which I call home though I live and am retired in New Jersey. It only makes it all the sweeter to know she plots and executes these master pieces in my home state.

Overall, the book was an okay read.However, I had trouble with the absolute stubbornness of the h. I thought that, in the end, everything would be worked out and we would get to know the characters once they got dropped their stubbornness and “fake” behaviours. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the ending and how the author decided to wrap their story up. I felt the ending was rushed and much to short for this length of a book (*SPOLER* especially since they don’t really end up together, in the sense that they are a real couple, until the last few pages of the book).

Talk about feisty,stubborn female locking horns with a stubborn,arrogant male and you'll get one thoroughly entertaining reading experience with plenty of Humor and Heated Passionate Moments. ABSOLUTELY Loved the whole time reading about these characters and reuniting with previous characters from the first book in this series. Not going to spoil it for you but I'm sure you'll be thoroughly entertained by this wonderfully written addition to the series!!!!😍😍😍😍😍

I live Johanna Lindsey's books but this one kept me entertained though the whole book.i found myself laughing out loud to Alex's antics and Vasilli's reactions. Absolutely loved this one!!!

Review:I’ve never been a huge historical romance reader. I enjoy them, but I don’t gravitate towards them that much. Except in cases, where the synopsis offers the promise of that specific type of uniquely sweet flavour I would devour, or if it’s a Johanna Lindsay novel. For some reason she has written pretty good historical romance coinciding with my preferred taste. While I have read the first book in the Cardinia royals series, that this story is also part of, and quite liked it, this current one, on the outside, looks humongously promising. BUT, it manages to deceive me with one of the aspects it actually lured me in with: an independent, opinionated and headstrong heroine. It sounds good, but there are always black sheep in the bunch, and Alexandra is it for me.So what did Alexandra mange to annoy me (and her initially very reluctant intended, the hero of the story, Vasili) with? Well, almost everything, as she turned on the heat for all aspects, that in moderation, would have made me cheer for her. While I applaud her tactics to scare away an unwanted betrothed by presenting herself off as a mannerless wild child without anything resembling feminine behaviour of that time and age, she went overboard. Especially with her acting all loco savage and violent with all women who caught Vasili’s eye. Yes, claiming and protecting her “territory” is absolutely fine and expected, but to physically attack, offend and threaten those women, who hadn’t really, in most cases, even done anything yet, was beyond irritating and off-putting to me.Her dragging her babies, her horses, with the travelling party, through dangerous conditions, was incredibly irresponsible. She claimed that she was taking care of them with having them come along, but it had the exact opposite effect. Also, by her too stubborn, too selfish, too woe-is-me behaviour during the trip, she endangered every person and animal accompanying her. I did, however, appreciate that she didn’t turn to goo for Vasili and maintained her backbone and uncontrollable character (somewhat), but overall, it was very difficult for me to grow fond of and root for her.I did, in general, like the hate to love storyline, because, it’s exactly the trope I enjoy reading about, because this actually enables the couple time to get to know each other and develop genuine feelings, instead of BOOM! insta-love! In that sense, I quite loved the story, because the hate part was believable, all the logical reasoning was present. The gradual developing of feelings was a welcome slow burn. I particularly liked their first meeting, with attraction and sparks flying galore, without either of them knowing who the other was. Due to that high quality chemistry, the lack of a satisfying steamy scene was disappointing. I’ve come to expect a lot more from the author, than the underwhelming, out of place (considering the situation), awkward and another compulsory romance element receiving a tick feeling I received from that only one scene in this story.Compared to Alex, toward whom I had high expectations, Vasili, from whom I wasn’t expecting much, except for being hot and alpha, really surprised me with his maturity, considering the situation. Yes, he was still the arrogant and a mega ultra womanizer I remembered from the first book in the series, but he acted almost decently for a man during that time and with a hurry to get rid of his unwanted fiancé. He put up with Alex’s antics with almost the patience of a parent with an unruly child, to a certain degree of course, and behaved much more reasonably than his intended, trying to maintain some sort of control over the situation. She just lashed out and trashed around on the floor like a baby, not considering who she was inconveniencing or hurting. I was, however, annoyed with his hypocrisy (he could dally around, but if she was promiscuous, then it was an issue – but I’m not surprised considering the time and age of the story, and when it was written) and obsession with her breasts, also, rape threats are never acceptable.The adventure part is always something I look forward to in historical fiction, if included. There was a bunch of it in this story as well with the travels and perils during it. While caused by unforgivable irresponsibility, I most certainly enjoyed the rescue, the bad guys and one-on-one battles. It was also quite lovely to meet up with the main couple form the previous book again and have a glimpse of how wonderfully things are still progressing.

I purchased this book after reading it from the library because it is a great story. It is a more volatile or charged story/connection between the two main characters, and if you are used to and love Johanna Lindsey's storytelling you will love this story and its predecessor. The only thing is that near the end the ending feels rushed to, but the journey is really great, especially with a strong female lead and a lot of banter.

I bought this as a handy reference source, but the more I use it the more I find lacking or missing. The biggest example is that there is no mention of ADHD drugs, Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, etc. Another is information on Depakote and Depakote ER is sparse. No mention of the need to adjust dose when converting from one to the other. Not much clinical drug data in Clinical drug Data Handbook.

I am a physician, and I wanted a drug manual that would detail the mechanism of action of medications. This book is terrible, however, because it does not include many, many common drugs. For example, it leaves out: digoxin (!), digitalis, propranolol (!), metoprolol (!), etc. Don't buy this.

The overall arrangement and presentation is superlative however I do not understand how they could omit some popular drugs like digoxin. Hope the next edition will be more inclusive. I commend the authors for their use of therapeutic classifications followed by individual drugs and then end up with comparison tables. This approach was repeated from chapter to chapter and I like it.

Highly, highly recommend! This is an excellent, concise & reliable drug info source! Wish I had discovered this earlier in pharmacy school!
